A self-taught guitar player, Barkley spent his teens and twenties playing in numerous guitar bands, gradually realising that the studio was where he belonged. He has a wide variety of experience in recording albums, EPs, singles and demos for both professional and amateur artists, and is a member of the Music Producers Guild.
